<br />73 <br />Regular Meeting January 12, .1998 Page 2 <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration two appointments to the Historic Preservation <br />Commission. Mayor Moore moved to reappoint Charles Waldrip and appoint Hill Rylander. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Viola Stillman. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />Charles Waldrip: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Hart, Moore, Cox, Hernandez. <br />Hill Rylander: Moore, Cox. <br />Viola Stillman: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Hart, Hernandez. <br />Mr. Waldrip and Ms. Stillman will serve as the two appointments to the Historic Preservation <br />Commission. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration five appointments to the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board. Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Patsy Greiner, Mo Johnson, Ron Kwiat, Mike <br />Fina and Ernie Contreras, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration four appointments to the Human Development <br />Commission. Ms. Hughson moved to reappoint Anita Reyes and Velia Cavazos and requested <br />this Commission meet in order to begin work on the Women's Hall of Fame. Mr. Gilley stated <br />the Citizens Review Commission would be reviewing this Commission and its purpose within <br />the next few months and agreed the Commission should meet until that time. Mayor Moore <br />asked the other appointments be made at the next Council meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and reconsideration of two Zoning <br />Ordinances. Public hearings were held and adoption of these Zoning Ordinances were <br />considered on December 15, 1997. No one wished to speak or reconsider the Zoning <br />Ordinances, the captions read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNC~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.188 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 500 BLOCK OF V ALLEY <br />STREET FROM "M" (SINGLE-FAM~Y, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD <br />BUSINESS DISTRICT) TO "MR" (MOB~E HOME AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT); <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNC~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.74 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 240 COMAL STREET FROM <br />"I" INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first <br />reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNC~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF MESQUITE TRA~ TO SAGEWOOD TR~ <br />FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE 2900 BLOCK OF NORTH BISHOP STREET <br />TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE 3100 BLOCK OF NORTH BISHOP STREET; <br />PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no <br />speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />
