<br />42 <br />Regular Meeting March 16, 1998 Page 2 <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Emergency <br />Medical Services Board. Mr. Guerra stated he will remain on the board until after the election in <br />May. Ms. Hughson suggested having staggered terms for the Council members serving on this <br />board and to draw lots for the terms. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Community <br />Action Board of Directors. Mr. Guerra stated he would remain on this Board until after the <br />election in May. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing regarding an annexation, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil., OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 4.566 <br />ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE 400 <br />BLOCK OF STAGECOACH TRAil.,; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS <br />TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no <br />speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil., OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.22 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1304 BISHOP STREET FROM <br />"R-l" SINGLE-FAMil., Y DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) TO "DP-I" TWO <br />F AMil., Y DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Curt Morrison <br />stated he was present to answer any questions. Mr. Guerra asked if any neighbors were opposed <br />to the Zoning change. Mr. Patterson stated no one in the immediate area opposed the change. <br />There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Ms. Hughson stated <br />this Zoning change would change the character of the neighborhood. Mr. Guerra moved for <br />adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion.
