<br /> 44. <br />Regular Meeting February 26, 2001 Page 3 <br />Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. <br />Don Garrett of Randall Morris Properties stated he was present to <br />represent the owners of the property and recommended the City Council vote <br />in favor of this rezoning. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Chiu <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Ordinance <br />and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first <br />reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> AMENDING SECTION 62.027 OF THE CITY CODE TO ALLOW THE POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT TO SET TIMES FOR THE PROVISION OF FINGERPRINTING SERVICES; <br /> INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mr. Moseley moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. <br />Tatum seconded the motion. Chief Griffith stated they plan to make the <br />service available three days a week at set times. Ms. Hughson asked that <br />the hours not be changed too often, the hours be made known to those who <br />answer general Police Department inquiries, and that they be placed on the <br />website. The Council voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on <br />first reading. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first <br />reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> ADDING A NEW DIVISION 18 TO CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 3 OF THE CITY CODE TO <br /> ESTABLISH A TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMISSION; AND INCLUDING <br /> PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br />Ms. Hughson moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Doiron seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson suggested this be a Board rather <br />than a Commission and also the powers and duties to include the board <br />accepting concerns and suggestions from the public regularly. Mr. Taylor <br />will draft language for the second reading. The Council voted unanimously <br />for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held February 12, 2001, approval of four Ordinances on second <br />reading, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption <br />of five Resolutions and approval of Change Order No. 3 to the Eastside <br />Interceptor II and IH35 Relief Sewer in the amount of $103,251.07 for <br />additional footage associated with the realignment of the gravity sewer at <br />Clovis Barker Road and the reconstruction of Peter Garza Street on <br />consensus. The Council removed Items 14, approval of Ordinance on second <br />reading, 16, removed from table and adoption of Ordinance on third and <br />final reading, 17 and 19.5, adoption of Resolutions, to be considered <br />separately. Mr. Doiron moved for approval of the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held February 12, 2001, approval of the remaining three Ordinances <br />
