<br />128. <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 9, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />speak and stated he wanted to speak to Items 29 and 34 regarding the <br />appeal of the Just for Fun Parade and discussion of parade permitting. He <br />stated he was a founder of the Just for Fun parade in San Marcos. He has <br />been meeting with the Police Department since September, and his parade <br />permit has been denied. He stated the parade route established by the <br />Police Department is different than has been used before, and TXDOT has <br />become involved and further complicated parades on roadways owned by TXDOT <br />establishing insurance requirements. He wants to discuss this matter <br />further with the Council. (4) Tom Ragsdale stated he wanted to speak on <br />Item 19. Mr. Ragsdale is a licensed insurer agent in Austin and <br />represents KIVA Construction regarding their bid bonds. Mr. Ragsdale <br />stated KIVA is qualified financially and for bonding purposes to do this <br />project. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration one appointment to the Human <br />Development Commission. Ms. Tatum moved to appoint Kim Saari to complete <br />the vacancy, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. No names were placed in <br />nomination, and this appointment will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Drainage Advisory Board for Sector 6. No names were placed in nomination, <br />and this matter will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration two appointments to the Human <br />Services Advisory Board. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Teresa James and <br />Ms. Tatum moved to appoint Jodi Ditmer to complete the vacancies, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration three appointments to the Main <br />Street Advisory Board. Mr. Moseley moved to reappoint Joe Cox (in), <br />reappoint Cindy Meyer (out-marketing) and reappoint Joe Garza (in-at <br />large), which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of three appointments to <br />the Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Doiron moved to <br />reappoint Kelvin Mills (plumber) and Ms. Tatum moved to reappoint Michael <br />Gilmore (general contractor) and reappoint Jack Eben (general contractor), <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />complete a vacancy on the Library Board. This appointment will be <br />rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of seven appointments to <br />the Transportation Advisory Board. Mr. Moseley moved to appoint Richard <br />Garza, Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Wallace Dockall and Ms. Tatum moved to <br />
