Public Hearing to receive comments for and against an ordinance approving an <br />amendment to the future land use map from "LDR", Low Density Residential to "MDR", <br />Medium Density Residential, for a 0.2583 acre, more or less, tract of land located at 407 A <br />and B Sarah Street; amending the official zoning map of the City by rezoning this tract <br />from "SF-6", Single Family Residential District to "DR", Duplex Restricted District; and <br />including procedural provisions; and consider adoption of Zoning Ordinance 2009-48 <br />At approximately 8:10 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing. <br />There being no public comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:10 p.m. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Terry and a second by Councilmember <br />Bose, the City Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed, to adopt Zoning Ordinance 2009- <br />48, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />18. Public Hearing to receive comments for and against the proposed Fiscal Year 2009- • <br />2010 Budget. <br />At approximately 8:15 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz opened the Public Hearing. <br />Kathy Morris, 802 Belvin, San Marcos, Texas 78666, came before the City Council to request <br />$500,000 to begin the architectural drawings and construction for Village Main. This building <br />includes four entities: WIC, Community Action, ECI Homespun, and the Family Justice Center. <br />This will be a 29-acre campus. This has been a $2.5 million investment since 2005. Planning <br />will create Village Main as the anchor for social service delivery. They expect completed plans <br />before August 2010. They will continue to pursue public and private funding because they want <br />this shovel ready as soon as possible. The partners will be owners of the bldg. She urged the Cit <br />Council to support this project. <br />Lois Hickman, 320 Camino Ashley, Wimberley, Texas 78666, with the ECI Homespun Hays <br />County Board, reported they have been moved around from location to location for years, and <br />now the staff is literally sitting on top of therapy equipment and case files.
