• Griffin Taylor, Student Liaison, reported they are in the process of creating a task force to figure <br />out bus routes and possible funding sources. <br />The City Council directed that this item be brought back for more discussion. <br />28. Discussion on the National League of Cities' Prescription Drug Program and provide <br />direction to staff. <br />Rick Menchaca, City Manager, reported on the NLC Prescription Drug Program and noted there <br />is no cost to the City other than getting the information out to the citizens. <br />The City Council directed staff to proceed. <br />29. Discussion on banning the use of Cell Phones in School Zones, and provide direction to <br />staff. <br />Rick Menchaca, City Manager, reported on new legislation regarding banning the use of cell <br />phones in school zones. <br />The City Council directed staff to proceed. <br />• 30. Question and answer session with press and public. <br />There were no questions. <br />31. Adiournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Terry and a second by Councilmember <br />Porterfield, the City Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed, to adjourn the regular <br />session of the San Marcos City Council at 8:52 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
