(1) Frances Emery <br />stated San Marcos is a progressive community, and the City needs to expand <br />the Activity Center. Ms. Emery stated the Parks Board approved the <br />expansion and there has been overwhelming support from the community. She <br />hopes the Council will approve the contract on this agenda for the <br />expansion. (2) Phil Hutchinson stated he too wanted to speak regarding <br />the Activity Center. He stated he is grateful for the work the City <br />Council does and thinks the $800,000 surplus funds should be used to pay <br />down the debt on the Activity Center. He did not think the City should <br />compete against public businesses, and the City would be better served by <br />paying on the debt. He expressed the need for hike and bike trails and <br />ADA accessibility to the trails. (3) Gaylord Bose requested the Council <br />consider the Activity Center Resolution separately. He stated the <br />Activity Center is a great asset to the community. (4) Alida Archer <br />stated she agrees with Frances Emery's comments. Ms. Archer stated she <br />
