<br />18. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 11, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, IN <br />SUPPORT OF THE GUADALUPE-BLANCO RIVER AUTHORITY'S REQUEST TO THE <br />TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO AMEND CANYON PERMIT <br />CERTIFICATE OF ADJUDICATION NO. 18-2074 AND URGING IMMEDIATE ISSUANCE <br />OF THE PERMIT AMENDMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 17 removed from the consent <br />agenda, adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ARTICLE 5, PDD PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, OF CHAPTER 94, <br />DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, OF THE CITY CODE TO UPDATE AND SIMPLIFY CITY <br />REGULATIONS FOR PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading <br />and Ms. Tatum seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked Mr. Theriot if the <br />guidelines had been prepared. Mr. Theriot stated they had not been <br />completed, would be determined by the Planning and Zoning Commission and <br />would not go before the Council for consideration. Ms. Hughson asked <br />where the public participation results would be used, and Mr. Theriot <br />responded they would be used by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Ms. <br />Hughson then moved to table this Ordinance until later in the meeting for <br />amendment language and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which pa.ssed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 22 removed from the consent <br />agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT BASIN COVER PROJECT <br />TO DYNAMIC SOLUTIONS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE <br />CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Tatum seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Cox asked if this would solve the odor problem, and Mr. <br />Gilley stated no, and advised the Council this is to control algae growth. <br />The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 27 removed from the consent <br />agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH DU-MOR ENTERPRISES, <br />INC. FOR THE HUGHSON HEIGHTS WASTEWATER REHABILITATION PROJECT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
