NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Mihalkanin. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY THE ADDITION OF A CONSTRUCTION SPEED LIMIT ON IH35 FROM THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY LIMITS TO LOOP 82; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mr. Cox moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration reconsideration of a Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. The caption of the Ordinance reads as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 3.25 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 2400 BLOCK OF IH35 NORTH FROM "R-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held June 11, 2001, minutes of the Special Meeting held June 18, 2001, approval of one Ordinance on second reading, adoption of ten Resolutions, remove from table and adoption of a Resolution, approval for use of General Fund Contingency Funds in the amount of $50,995.00 for the rehabilitation of the Calaboose African-American History Museum, approval of Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $34,613.00 for the Hunter Road Fire Station, and approval of Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $80,149.90 for the Holland Street Reconstruction Project on consensus. The Council removed Item 16, adoption of Resolution, to be considered separately.
