Hold discussion regarding potentially amending the City of San Marcos Charter, <br />including, but not limited to, possible amendments to the Charter, assembling the Charter <br />Review Commission, drafting a charge to the Charter Review Commission, and provide <br />direction to Staff. <br />Mayor Hughson introduced this item and stated we are required to review our <br />Charter every four years, but State law allows the City to amend and have a <br />charter election no more than every two years. <br />Mayor Hughson introduced a couple of items regarding election terms and the <br />section of the Charter pertaining to governance. She asked how Council would <br />like to proceed with review of these items. Council consensus is to work out the <br />possible amendments in an evening workshop meeting. <br />11. City Council Reports: <br />a) Mayor Hughson will provide a brief update regarding her membership on various <br />Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) committees. <br />b) Mayor Hughson will provide a brief update related to her membership on the Capital <br />Area Metro Planning Organization (CAMPO). <br />c) Mayor Hughson will provide a brief updated related to her membership on the Alliance <br />Regional Water Authority (ARWA). <br />A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by Council Member <br />Mihalkanin, to postpone these reports to the February 19, 2019 City Council <br />Meeting.
