City Council <br />Those who spoke: <br />Meeting Minutes February 5, 2019 <br />Jake Brown, LGR Developer, stated that Shannon provided all accurate <br />information and wanted to re-emphasize that this will not be a student housing <br />complex. He is here for any questions that Council may have. <br />Roland Saucedo, stated that he is 100% for affordable housing in our <br />community. He would like Council to exercise caution with this regarding the <br />criteria tenants need to follow to qualify for this housing. His main concern is <br />in regards to the requirement to provide three previous rental references. If a <br />person wants to get into a house they may have no previous rental history. He <br />also wants to make sure it does not become student housing because this has <br />happened before. <br />Betseygail Rand, stated there are two areas that have a ton of "bang for the <br />buck" is to provide free wi-ii to close the digital divide and encourage the <br />construction of a well maintained playground in the middle of the complex. <br />We need to signal to college students that this a family environment. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, stated this is a Legacy District and suggests this goes <br />before the affordable housing committee prior to taking action. She doesn't <br />believe it is fair to keep students out of this development that may need <br />cheaper housing. <br />There being no further comments, the Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 7:02 <br />p.m. <br />Council Consensus was to refer this, and all other application for low income <br />housing tax credits, to the City Council workforce housing committee. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Derrick, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Prewitt, to postpone Resolution 2019-26R. The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin, Council Member Marquez and Council <br />Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 0 <br />NON -CONSENT AGENDA <br />7.
