Mr. VonderLippe believes the City could have such a future <br />development on the Carson property (Wonder World) with its mixed uses. <br />The area neighborhood wants walking and bike trails in this area and would <br />like their plan to be a reality. (5) David Peterson, Chair of the <br />Juneteenth Committee, stated they have sponsors for their celebration and <br />the Parks Department has helped in the past. The Juneteenth Committee is <br />interested in the City providing some assistance for the use of facilities <br />at the Activity Center and City Park, trash removal and the use of chairs, <br />tables and tents. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Senior Citizen Advisory Board. This appointment will be <br />rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Sesquicentennial Committee. There are presently 15 members serving, <br />and Mr. Doiron stated the appointments of two additional members are <br />needed. Mr. Moseley moved to appoint Ofelia Vasquez-Philo, who was <br />recommended by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Doiron moved to <br />appoint Lupe Vasquez, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Human Services Advisory Board. This appointment will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission and the appointment of two alternates. The <br />Council stated they would first make an appointment to complete the <br />vacancy on the Commission. Mr. Doiron moved to appoint Kevin Brumley <br />(ETJ) and Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Bill DeSoto (City).
