Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Ron Patterson <br />Steve Griffith <br />Tom Taggart <br />Richard Mendoza <br />Laurie Anderson <br />Mark Brinkley <br /> <br />Also Present: Ed Theriot, Jon James, Robert Habingreither, Carol <br />Coughlin, Stephanie Garcia, Shelley Goodwin, Cynthia Nankervis, James <br />Frye, Mike Dishman, Gloria Salazar, John Holtermann, Sherri Russell, and <br />others. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu lead the <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced the Citizen comment period. (1) Gloria Salazar <br />stated she has represented the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on the <br />Convention and Visitors Bureau and is present to discuss the Council's <br />attendance policy. She does not recall the Council previously taking <br />action to remove members who have more than three absences. She urged the <br />Council to review the policy, and if it is to be enforced, that it be <br />enforced timely at the time the third absence occurs. She reminded the <br />Council all who serve on Boards are volunteers and urged the Council to be <br />fair in their decision. (2) Ruben Becerra of the Downtown Association <br />thanked the Council for their efforts for progress downtown. He requested <br />the Council consider allowing restaurants selling alcohol to obtain <br />specific use permits in the downtown area and thanked the Council for this <br />consideration. Mayor Pro-Tern Hughson continued the Citizen comment period <br />(Mayor Chiu filed a disclosure affidavit-real property and left the <br />Council Chambers). (1) Jim Neuhaus thanked the Council for the <br />opportunity to speak and for volunteering to serve on the Council.
