City Council Meeting Minutes August 6, 2019 <br />critical. This project is 18 units of transitional housing and it will focus on <br />families with young children. Classrooms will also be included in the complex. <br />Most of the funds that have been raised have been private. She is now coming <br />to the local government to ask for their investment. Hays County has <br />contributed and she is asking the Council to approve the same. The Meadows <br />Center is also considering a grant for them as well. There are more things that <br />need to fall into place. She stated that they are working with HomeAide out of <br />Austin. She thanked Council for their support. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion on the TxDOT Striping Improvements to <br />Guadalupe Street between University & Grove Streets, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Laurie Moyer, Director of Engineering and CIP explained the reason for late <br />minute addition of this presentation as we recently heard from TxDOT they <br />would be initiating this project. She then turned the presentation over to Rohit <br />Vij, Project Engineer. Mr. Vij provided a brief presentation regarding the <br />Striping Improvements to Guadalupe Street between University and Grove <br />Street which included the project objectives, project scope, crash analysis, <br />downtown parking, public outreach, project schedule, TxDOT Mill & Overlay, <br />TxDOT striping along Guadalupe Street, TxDOT Schedule, and Cross Sections. <br />Council asked to see a large map of the Striping Project. Staff will provide this <br />to Council. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Council Member Rockeymoore, seconded by Council <br />Member Derrick, to approve the consent agenda, with the exception of items # <br />16, 17, 18, and 19 which were pulled and considered separately.
