<br /> 2. <br /> Regular Meeting May 8, 2000 Page 2 <br /> ABSTAIN: Mihalkanin. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration one appointment to the Zoning Board of Adjustments <br /> and Appeals. Mr. Doiron moved to appoint Teresa Santeere Hobby to fill a vacancy, which <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration one appointment to the Senior Citizens Advisory <br /> Board. There were no nominations and this appointment will be rescheduled for May 22, 2000 <br /> agenda. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration one appointment to the Library Board. Mr. <br /> Mihalkanin moved to appoint Shirley Austin to fill a vacancy, who resides in the city limits, <br /> which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br /> the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A <br /> 53.989 ACRE TRACT OF UNZONED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5001 IH 35 SOUTH <br /> AS "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br /> AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no <br /> speakers, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the <br /> Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Cox seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked who is paying for the <br /> water extension and Mr. Patterson stated this is part of the Elim System.. Mr. Patterson stated <br /> Tanger Outlet Center is taking a twelve inch line down the interstate and the City is working with <br /> the developer to do oversizing. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Zoning <br /> Ordinance. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br /> the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 20.53 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 2000 BLOCK OF <br /> CLOVIS BARKER DRIVE FROM "R-l" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT <br /> (LOW DENSITY) TO "I" INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br /> PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Don Garrett, <br /> representing the owner of the property, stated he would be available to answer any questions the <br /> Council may have. There were no other speakers, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. <br /> Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, <br /> which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration the consent agenda, including approval of the <br /> Minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 24, 2000, approval of an Ordinance on second <br /> reading, adoption of four Ordinances on third and final reading, and adoption of ten Resolutions. <br /> The Council removed items 6.B approval of an Ordinance on second reading, 6.c.(1) adoption of <br /> an Ordinance on third and final reading, 6.D.(3) , 6.D.(4), 6.D.(9), adoption of Resolutions, to be <br /> considered separately. Mr. Doiron moved for approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br /> held April 24, 2000 {Mr. Mihalkanin abstaining}, adoption of three Ordinances on third and final <br /> reading, and adoption of the seven remaining Resolutions. Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, <br /> which passed unanimously.
