(1) Mr. Bibb Underwood who <br /> resides at 1301 Brown Street stated he was there to speak in regards to the ordinance removing <br /> the restrictions on truck traffic on Bishop Street. Mr. Underwood stated he hopes the Council <br /> looks at this situation carefully and asked if the City had the average daily traffic rating on <br /> Bishop Street; what percent of traffic trucks would be and what that capacity would be if this <br /> ordinance is approved. Mr. Underwood stated why should citizens fight destruction of their own <br /> streets when there are streets which are constructed as State highways designed to carry the <br /> traffic that seems to divert onto Bishop Street. 2) Mr. Augustin Lucio, Jr. stated that he resides at <br /> 1216 Candlelight Lane in Sunset Acres. Mr. Lucio stated he would appreciate it if the Council <br /> would take note of what would be done with the CIP. Mr. Lucio stated the recent heavy rains <br /> had caused flooding in some homes in Sunset Acres. Mr. Lucio stated this can be corrected and <br /> would like the Council to direct staff to do a study and recommend that the water be diverted or <br /> drained before it gets to the area where it floods. (3) Mr. Joel Barnard stated that he Jives at 620 <br /> N. Bishop and wanted to discuss the issue of allowing trucks onto Bishop Street. Mr. Barnard <br /> stated he understood the concerns of citizens on Hopkins and Ranch Road 12. MI. Barnard <br /> stated there are several problems with Bishop Street with various blind spots and curves. Mr. <br /> Barnard stated that allowing trucks onto Bishop will make the problem worse and that there will <br /> still be extreme bottlenecking at the intersection of Bishop and Hopkins. (3) Mr. Sam Montoya <br /> who resides at.609 Columbia Avenue stated he is a pastor at the Sinai Pentecostal Church <br /> * Ms. Womack not present at this meeting. <br />
