Ms. Childress stated it is a safety issue and hopes the <br /> Council will not pass this ordinance. (15) Mr. Joe Schneider stated he would like for the truck <br /> traffic to stay on Farm Road 2439 and Ranch Road 12 instead of using Bishop Street. Mr. <br /> Schneider stated that when the State road breaks down the State would have to fix it and not the <br /> taxpayers of the City. (16) Patricia Pettit stated she resides at 1612 Ramona Street and stated she <br /> had just moved from Houston and travels to the cancer center daily. Ms. Petitt stated Bishop <br /> Street is in disrepair and is a danger to her and others. Ms. Pettit stated with the subdivision <br /> being built at the bottom of the first grade with Bishop going down to Hopkins, the trucks have <br /> ruined the street. Ms. Pettit stated the City needs to repair this street and asked the Council to <br /> consider this a nuisance to the community and not in the safety and best interest of the <br /> community. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the San Marcos <br /> Industrial Development Corporation. Ms. Tatum moved to nominate Teresa Hobby, which <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Ethics Review <br /> Commission. Mayor Chiu stated Ms. Connie Bagley was eligible for reappointment and is <br /> interested in serving another term. Mr. Moseley stated he had someone to replace Paul Buntyn <br /> and would bring his name at the next meeting. The Council will consider the remaining <br /> appointments at its next regular meeting. Ms. Hughson moved to reappoint Connie Bagley which <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Cemetery <br /> Commission. Mr. Moseley moved to appoint Sara Kirkpatrick. MI. Doiron moved to appoint <br /> Kay Burton and MI. Mayhew moved to appoint Catherine Rich. The Council will consider the <br /> remaining appointment at its next regular meeting. The motions for appointment passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of seven appointments to the Citizen Review <br /> Commission. The Council will reschedule consideration of these appointments to its next <br /> regular meeting. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Youth <br /> Commission. Mr. Mayhew moved to nominate Carla Merritt (Hays-Caldwell Council on <br /> Alcohol and Drug Abuse) which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Senior Citizens <br /> Advisory Board. The Council will reschedule consideration of this appointment to its next <br /> regular meeting. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one Council Member appointment to the <br /> Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mayor Chiu nominated Council Member Martha Tatum which <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption <br /> which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil., OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> , <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 38, FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION, OF <br /> THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE TO ADD A PROVISION PROHIBITING THE <br /> BURNING OF REFUSE IN THE CITY, INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br /> PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and MI. Cox seconded the <br /> motion which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration adoption of a Zoning Ordinance removed from table, <br /> the caption which was read as follows: <br />
