There were discussions on funneling money into an <br />emergency repair fund, so he wants to know if they are pulling the four homes <br />out of the ten homes that Southside completes annually. <br />There being no further comments, the Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 6:58 <br />p.m. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Derrick, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Mihalkanin, to approve Resolution 2019-264R. <br />Council held discussion and asked questions. Staff provided that they will <br />provide a summary of how many homes were repaired and the amount of how <br />much was spent on each along with additional details on the homebuyers <br />assistance program. <br />The motion to approve Resolution 2019-264R carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Mayor Pro <br />Tem Mihalkanin, Council Member Marquez and Council Member Baker <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Rockeymoore <br />18. Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments for or <br />against adopting the Community Development Block Grant -Mitigation ("CDBG-MIT") <br />Action Plan that provides for the allocation of $24,012,000 of CDBG-MIT funds for <br />program year 2019; and provide direction to staff. <br />Michael Ostrowski, Assistant Director of Planning and Development Services, <br />provided a presentation on the Community Development Block <br />Grant -Mitigation ("CDBG-MIT") Action Plan. <br />Mayor Hughson opened the Public Hearing at 7:13 p.m. <br />Those who spoke: <br />Roland Saucedo, expressed his concern and wants to make sure that the <br />funding money awarded to the City of San Marcos for the 2015 Blanco <br />Gardens flood money has been allocated for the neighborhood and the <br />prevention of repetitive loss. If the money hasn't been allocated to take care of <br />Blanco Gardens, Council needs to be mindful that this money would also <br />benefit other parts of the city like Sewell park that gets flooded.
