City Council Meeting Minutes January 11, 2020 <br />• Finance & Audit Committee - committee will remain active <br />• Cooperative Governance Committee — committee will remain active and <br />utilized as needed. <br />• Multimodal Transit Committee — committee will remain active <br />• Rental Registration Committee — upcoming meeting this month (January <br />2020), so committee will remain active <br />• Legislative Committee — committee will remain active. Council would like to <br />ensure the Communications Department is available during legislative session <br />to be the point person at all times. <br />• La Cima Committee — remain active and meet as necessary <br />• Lindsey Hill Committee — remain active and meet as necessary <br />• Sustainability Committee - remain active <br />• Criminal Justice Committee — remain active <br />• Cresta Verde — disband this committee <br />• Sylvan 75 — disband this committee <br />• Create a new committee on homelessness in our community. This will be <br />brought forward at the February 4, 2020 City Council Meeting. Staff is <br />working with partners in the community to address some of these issues. <br />Mr. Lumbreras asked that we formalize a committee structure and define rules. <br />Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, City Clerk, and Attorney <br />can work together to create a standard rule of procedures for these <br />committees. <br />Some additional requests from Council included: <br />• Review C.M. Allen/Hopkins Intersection glare and street marking issues <br />• Set up tour of new Career Technology Education Building at High School <br />• Work with TxDOT on Hwy 80 signs - coming into town, sign directs motorist <br />to necessary lane to travel to Austin or San Antonio <br />City of San Marcos Page 3 <br />
