City Council Meeting Minutes January 7, 2020 <br />Against: 0 <br />NON -CONSENT AGENDA <br />12. Consider approval of Ordinance 2019-46, on the second of two readings, amending <br />Chapter 82, Traffic and Vehicles, of the San Marcos City Code, by adding a new Article 9 <br />that prohibits motor -assisted scooters on public property, streets and sidewalks; <br />providing a savings clause; providing for the repeal of any conflicting provisions; <br />providing for penalties; and providing an effective date. <br />After discussion was held regarding rental companies and privately owned <br />scooters, a motion was made by Council Member Derrick, seconded by <br />Council Member Rockeymoore, to postpone Ordinance 2019-46. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Council Member Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Mayor Pro Tem Mihalkanin, Council <br />Member Marquez, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Rockeymoore, Council Member <br />Baker and Council Member Gonzales <br />Against: 0 <br />13. Receive a presentation and provide feedback regarding the San Marcos Complete <br />Count Committee's planned outreach efforts to promote the 2020 Census. <br />Amanda Hernandez, Development Services Manager, provided a brief <br />introduction of the item and introduced Dr. Gloria Martinez, Chair of San <br />Marcos Complete Count Committee who will present the committee's findings <br />and present the workplan to reach an accurate count for the City of San <br />Marcos in the 2020 Census. <br />Dr. Gloria Martinez provided a presentation and provided feedback regarding <br />the San Marcos Complete Count Committee's planned outreach efforts to <br />promote the 2020 Census. <br />Ms. Martinez introduced the Complete Count Committee Members, they <br />include the following: <br />Roland Saucedo, Co -Chair <br />Jordan Buckley <br />Keith Cunningham <br />Elva Gonzales <br />Michelle Harper <br />Melissa Jewett <br />Mary Lacy <br />Ida Miller <br />Jason Mock <br />City of San Marcos Page 11 <br />
