And Engineering Laurie Anderson Director of Airport Jack Doughty Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Director of Health Mark Brinkley Director of Water and Wastewater Tom Taggert Also Present: Phil Neighbors, Charles Austin, Dan Praver, Camille Phillips, Carol Coughlin, Robert Mooney, John McBride, Sharon Chiu, Richard Garza, Gloria Arney, Tom McNair, Jack Weatherford, Ollie Giles, Rolland Hesalroad, Murlin Evans, Sherri Russell, Brenda Drexel, Jim Byrn, Berry James and others. Mayor Chiu called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Chiu introduced the citizen comment period. ( 1) Carol Coughlin stated she is opposed to the parking restrictions in park areas in Item 8.B. on the agenda. She stated she currently goes to the park and would not acquire a permit to go and does not think tourists to San Marcos would either. (2) Camille Phillips stated she had 160 signatures opposing the land use change on Item 8.D. on the agenda (Weatherford). (3) Dan Praver stated his opposition to the parking restrictions in park areas in Item 8. B. He stated there are also parking problems downtown, and thought having parking restrictions in the park areas would impact tourism. He stated if SWT has a parking problem, let them address their own problem. (4) Rolland Hesalroad, President of the Greater Castle Forest Neighborhood Association, spoke in opposition to Item 8.D. on the agenda (Weatherford). * Mr. Mayhew not present at this meeting.
