Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Main Street Advisory Board. This appointment will be rescheduled. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Citizens Review Commission. Mr. Cox moved to appoint John Thomaides, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING LOTS 12 AND 13, BLOCK 10, SUNSET ACRES ADDITION, LOCATED AT 405 BROADWAY STREET, FROM" R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) TO "P" (PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Chiu closed the public hearing. Mr. Moseley moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE REALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING FROM PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION AND SANITARY SEWER PROJECT TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALK PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Dianne Wassenich stated she is in hopes the City will receive input from the Parks Department and Greenspace Alliance and that the sidewalks will be placed in a way that children will be able to walk to schools safely. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Chiu closed the public hearing. Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked if the City is looking at proposals such as the ones Ms. Wassenich suggested. Mr. Gilley stated the City is looking at alternative proposals to determine what will work best. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Doiron, Moseley, Hughson, Chiu, Cox, Mayhew. NAY: None.
