Councilmember Guererro recommended that Gary Gooch serve as an interim step in <br />order to continue the recruitment process. Mayor Narvaiz requested the Council to bring <br />back the names of interested persons at the next meeting. <br />24. Consider approval of the City's Ouarterly Financial Report (OFR) for the <br />quarter ending December 31, 2007. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Bose and a second by <br />Councilmember Jones, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />approve the Quarterly Financial Report for the quarter ending December 31, 2007. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />25. Hold a discussion regarding the design and construction of McCarty Road <br />adiacent to the Conference Center and direction to Staff. <br />Collette Jamison, Interim City Manager, reported on the design and construction of <br />McCarty Road. Laurie Anderson, Assistant City Manager, presented renderings of the <br />project layout and the cross section of the 160' right -of -way. Staff recommends <br />construction to the back property line of the Hotel Conference Center. Options are: 1) <br />construct an improved two -lane roadway with shoulders; 2) construct a three -lane <br />roadway; or 3) construct a five -lane roadway. Staff was directed to come back with a <br />better visual and a better sense of the dollars. <br />26. Hold discussion regarding setting the time, date and location for a Noise <br />Abatement Task Force Workshop and direction to Staff (proposed date, time <br />and location: March 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.). <br />Staff was directed to bring back to Council a more appropriate committee name that <br />encompasses all the city issues being reviewed. The workshop will take place in the <br />Council Chambers at City Hall on March 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. <br />27. Hold discussion regarding Loop 110 and Pass -Thru Agreement and direction <br />to Staff. <br />Mayor Narvaiz gave an update regarding Loop 110 and the Pass -Thru Agreement with <br />Hays County and TXDOT. Councilmember Porterfield noted that the cities of Kyle and <br />Buda were there in strong force, and she recommended that we work together. <br />28. Hold discussion regarding Hopkins pedestrian bridge architectural rendering <br />and direction to Staff. <br />Richard Mendoza, Public Works Director, said they are ready to move forward on the <br />purchase. The renderings show added architectural elements, such as horizontal rails, <br />and lighting. <br />29.
