Hopkins <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 <br />in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Council Member Melissa Derrick, Mayor Jane Hughson, Mayor Pro Tem Ed <br />Mihalkanin, Council Member Joca Marquez, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Mark <br />Rockeymoore, Council Member Maxfield Baker and Council Member Saul Gonzales <br />III. Invocation <br />A moment of silence was observed. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Calvin Essoufi, 1st grade student at San Marcos Preparatory School, led the <br />assembly in the pledges of allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Roland Saucedo, would like to give a big thank you to the Mayor, Council and <br />Mr. Lumbreras' Office recognizing Stephanie and Hayden. In the Planning <br />department, Shannon Mattingly, Amanda Hernandez, and Shavon Caldwell. <br />In the Communications department, Kristy Stark, Lauren and Rebecca. Mr. <br />Saucedo stated that today they had the San Marcos Complete Count Census <br />2020 kickoff event and it was a huge success. Thanked Councilmember Baker <br />that attended the event. Humbly asking to consider the application on the <br />Neighborhood Commission and would like to continue to serve on the <br />Neighborhood Commission, and learned that he can sit on one other board <br />and that is the Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee. He submitted <br />application and ask for support and nomination because it's an important <br />committee. Mr. Saucedo stated by the given diversity in our community and by <br />being Hispanic he can bring a lot to the oversight for shaping and development <br />for the future of San Marcos citizens. <br />City of San Marcos page 1 <br />
