128. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FEBRUARY 25, 2002 PRESENT: Mayor * David Chiu Mayor Pro-Tem Jane Hughson Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Joe B. Health Mark Brinkley Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Director of Information Technology Ramona Brown Also Present: Kim Porterfield, Richard Mendoza, Stephanie Garcia, Dr. Randy Rogers, Phil Neighbors, Carol Coughlin, John Thomaides, Mike Chapman, Dianne Wassenich, Jon James, Sherri Russell, George VonderLippe, Susan Narvaiz, Melissa Millecam, Richard Howser, Shaune Maycok, Shelley Goodwin, and others. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson stated Mayor Chiu was absent from the meeting because he was participating in an Economic Development recruiting trip to Silicon Valley. Mayor Chiu joined a delegation of 39 people from Central Texas who will visit with 70 high tech companies in southern California over the next three days. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Pro- Tem Hughson lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson introduced the Citizen comment period. (1) Laura Davila stated she wants to preserve their neighborhood and is opposed to the Leah to Leah connection. She asked for a show of hands of those opposed to the Leah to Leah connection and several raised their hands. She stated San Marcos Transportation Advisory Board has stated the Leah to Leah connection is not necessary. (2) George VonderLippe stated he was * Mayor Chiu was absent at this meeting.
