(1) Rita Tinley stated
KMOL in San Antonio sensationalized the Party Ordinance addressing parties
and damaged efforts to show San Marcos' quality of life. Ms. Tinley
believes the Ordinance will help keep party goers out of San Marcos and
help good tenants to lease. She urged the City to craft a news release
that would reflect accurate information. She wants the City to keep
appropriate Ordinances in force. She thinks everyone is working together
for a better quality of life. (2) Larry Mock stated he wants a change in
the Noise Ordinance not to hold landlords responsible for tenants' actions
and stated this should be changed throughout the Ordinance. He stated the
Ordinance should be tabled until a compromise can be made with all parties
involved. (3) Roy Graves stated he is a local business owner and
landlord. He was present to address the Noise Ordinance. He stated he
lived in San Marcos all his life and thinks there is a lack of law
enforcement in place now. He stated if law enforcement held up their end,
the problem with noise would go away. He stated everyone in attendance at
parties should be punished, and it was wrong to punish the landlords. (4)
