(1) Jason Grote, owner <br />of San Marcos Taxi and Shuttle, offered the elderly and disabled voters of <br />San Marcos a free taxi ride to and from the polling places on Saturday, <br />May 4, 2002. (2) James Jones stated he was an owner of a web designer <br />business here in San Marcos. He stated the City put a bid proposal out to <br />redesign the City's web page, and he feels the Council should keep the tax <br />payers money local and awarding the bid to a local business. (3) Camille <br />Phillips stated she wanted to speak on Item 10, regarding funding for the <br />defense of Weatherford vs. City lawsuit. She thanked the Council for <br />fighting this lawsuit, which she feels should reach a settlement soon. <br />(4) Mike Cosio stated he is opposed to Item 21, the Sector Five Plan. He <br />stated he lives on Leah Street with two small children and feels a Leah to <br />Leah connection, or an emergency gate on Leah, will affect their safety. <br /> <br />* Mark Taylor was absent from this meeting. <br />
