<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 9, 2002 <br /> <br />68. <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />stated he would like the process of the subsections to begin on the next <br />~egular Meeting scheduled for January 13, 2002. 2) Ms. Narvaiz stated at <br />:he National League of Cities Conference, Cities were asked to send letters <br />~xpressing concern regarding the Homeland Response Bill to leaders. She <br />stated the deadline for these letters is December 16, 2002. She also stated <br />she had been given sample letters. She feels the City should send a letter <br />of support and include both Fire and Police badges. Council agreed to send <br />a support letter to President Bush with the Council's signatures. 3) Mr. <br />Montoya stated the National League of Cities had several great issues, one <br />in which Ms. Narvaiz had brought up. He stated there were also important <br />discussions regarding Community Development, child development and <br />affordable housing, in which he would like to discuss with Council at a <br />later date. 4) Mr. Mayhew complemented Mr. O'Leary on the fine job as emcee <br />at Sights and Sounds of Christmas. 5) Ms. Tatum stated the National League <br />of Cities was very informative this year. She stated this year there were <br />several important issues, which included after school programs and <br />educational programs. She stated she felt these issues can have a major <br />impact on the Community. She stated the economy is struggling with deficits <br />everywhere. She suggested the City should be pro-active with affordable <br />housing. She would like to know what the Housing Authority does and work to <br />see what we can do to tag on. <br /> <br />~ayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />;overnment Code, Section 551.074, to discuss evaluation of public officers <br />(City Attorney, City Clerk). Mr. Mayhew moved the Council adjourn into <br />Executive Session at 11:06 p.m. and Mr. Montoya seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Taylor moved the Council reconvene at 12:30 a.m. and Ms. Narvaiz <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:31 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Montoya and <br />seconded by Ms. Tatum. <br /> <br />'~ß(~ <br /> <br /> <br />Robert B.
