2. Regular Meeting March 4, 2002 Page 2 Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of five appointments to the Central Texas Higher Education Authority Board. Mr. Mayhew moved to appoint William Thompson, Ms. Hughson moved to re-appoint Leland Wilson, Dr. Betty Starling and Dorothy Evans, and Ms. Tatum moved to re-appoint Margaret Lindsey, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Human Development Commission. No nominations were received and this will be rescheduled. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Land Development Steering/Policy Committee. Ms. Tatum moved to appoint Dr. Randy Rogers, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY'S 2001-2002 BUDGET TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR ACQUISTION OF A TRACT OF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Ms. Hughson moved for the approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 25, 2002, approval of one Ordinance on second reading, adoption of four Ordinances on third and final reading and adoption of five Resolutions on consensus, and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
