SAN MARCOS TRANSIT PLAN I FINALREPORT <br />City of San Marcos <br />Bus Stop Accessibility <br />Several existing and newbus stops require varyinglevels of accessibility improvements. For cost <br />estimation purposes, accessibility improvements are identified as a Level 1, 2, or investment in <br />the summarytable at the end of this section. <br />Level i investments require minimal concrete flatwork. Level 2 investments require minimal <br />concrete flatwork and/or a connecting sidewalk. Level investments require more significant <br />upgrades. The complete bus stop accessibility assessment is included in theAppendix C. <br />New Crosswalks <br />The installation of new crosswalks is recommended at the following locations to improve <br />pedestrian access and safety: <br />■ Del Sol Drive at Sunrise Village Apartments <br />■ McCarty Lane at Embassy Suites Hotel near North I-35 Frontage Road <br />These crosswalks could simplybe painted or equipped with a pedestrian -activated flashing <br />beacon to alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians wishing to cross the street. <br />Example of a mid -block crosswalk at a bus stop <br />Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc. 13-4 <br />
