City Council <br />Meeting Minutes November 20, 2020 <br />Special meeting, council requested additional election day and early voting <br />sites, nine locations were mentioned. Ms. Cook stated that Ms. Anderson was <br />able to secure all nine election day sites and six early voting sites, as three were <br />unavailable. <br />Ms. Cook stated the following sites will serve as Early voting locations for the <br />runoff election: <br />Centro Cultural Hispano - 211 Lee Street <br />Dunbar Center - 801 MLK Drive <br />Hays County Government Center - 712 S. Stagecoach Trail <br />Hays County Transportation, Yarrington Building - 2171 Yarrington Road <br />Live Oak (Broadway) Formerly County Health Department - 401 Broadway <br />Street #C <br />*Texas State Performing Arts Center - 405 Moon Street (no weekend Early <br />Voting - closed) <br />The following locations were not available as Early Voting Locations, but will <br />serve as Election Day Voting Locations in addition to those mentioned above: <br />San Marcos Housing Authority/CM Allen - 820 Sturgeon Drive <br />First Baptist Church - 325 W. McCarty Lane <br />Sinai Pentecostal - 208 Laredo <br />Ms. Cook reminded council of their request for extended voting hours on <br />Monday - Thursday of Early Voting to 6:00 p.m. as opposed to 5:00 p.m. Ms. <br />Cook stated due to staffing limitations by the Hays County Elections <br />Administrator, in order for the City to have Early Voting hours from 9:00 AM <br />until 6:00 PM on Monday - Thursday (November 30 -December 3) the Sunday <br />Early Voting hours would be removed. Council determined that 9 to 6 will be <br />acceptable and therefore there would be no Sunday early voting. <br />The motion to approve carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott and Council Member Garza <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Marquez <br />III. Adjournment. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Baker, seconded by Council Member <br />Gonzales, to adjourn the special meeting of the City Council on Friday, <br />November 20, 2020 at 12:13 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
