Wednesday, February 24, 2021 6:00 PM Virtual Meeting <br />This meeting was held using conferencing software due to COVID-19 rules. <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:01 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, <br />2021. This meeting was held virtually <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Melissa Derrick, Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield <br />Baker, Council Member Saul Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, <br />Council Member Alyssa Garza and Council Member Mark Gleason <br />III. Invocation <br />A moment of reflection was observed this evening. Mayor Hughson stated to <br />think of the citizens and staff who helped the community during the winter ice <br />storm. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, thanked the appointees for the hard work on the <br />Charter Review Commission. She expressed concern with item #20 not being a <br />public hearing item. Ms. Coppoletta expressed concern with the timer during <br />citizen comment and would like to see all meetings from boards and <br />commissions to be posted online for more transparency. <br />Harvey Jenkins, spoke regarding the ice storm and expressed concern with the <br />Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and would like for ERCOT to <br />be held accountable. Mr. Jenkins does not want the electrical rates to increase <br />and stated this can't happen again and thanked council for their time. <br />City of San Marcos page 1 <br />
