• Activation of a Local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to coordinate and direct the response <br />to the disaster event. <br />• Emergency measures to prevent further damage to facilities <br />• Removal of health & safety hazards and disposal of dead animals. <br />• Pumping of trapped floodwaters. <br />• Pumping of septic tanks or decontamination of wells. <br />• Control of rodents or insects that pose a serious health hazard, but not when they are merely a <br />nuisance. <br />• Construction of emergency protective measures to protect lives or improved property. <br />• Restoration of access when work was done. <br />• Building inspections. Safety inspections that are necessaryto establish if a damaged structure <br />posed an immediate threat. <br />• Eliminate or reduce an immediate threat to life, public health, or safety. <br />• Eliminate or reduce an immediate hazard that threatens significant damage to improved public <br />or private property. <br />• Bracing & shoring damaged structures to protect against further damage to the structure to <br />protect the general public. <br />• Closure of public parks, particularly those adjacent to the rivers to protect the safety of citizens <br />attempting to access the inundated areas. <br />Beyond the activities that the City Emergency Management Division performed, the San Marcos Housing <br />Authority has also received $41,000.00 under this Category, specifically to provide improvements for the <br />physically challenged and to improve emergency access to the affected units. <br />A summary of the remaining costs and needs in this Category are as follows: <br />Memorial Day $ 269,950.00 $ 202,462.50 $ 67,487.50 <br />All Saints Day $ 150,000.00 $ 112,500.00 $ 37,500.00 <br />;y; U, C al�'e g o II y C -,-Roads Sysr &I V 0 s a II P d Bridges <br />As a result of the flooding in 2015 over 25 roadways and culverts, along with a major railroad trestle and <br />other bridges were damaged in the City.
