AIRPORT MASTER PLAN <br />C HAPTER 2:I NVENTORY <br />F ACILITIES I NVENTORY <br />As the initial step in the airport master planning process, the inventory is a <br />systematic data collection process that provides an understanding of past and <br />present aviation factors associated with the San Marcos Regional Airport (HYI). A <br />comprehensive inventory, including the following major inventory tasks, was <br />completed to form the basis for airport recommendations throughout the <br />remainder of the Airport Master Plan. <br /> An on-site inspection of existing facilities was conducted over the course of <br />multiple days to ensure an accurate inventory of airport facilities, equipment, <br />and services. <br /> Discussions with Airport, local officials, airport users, and airport tenants <br />regarding recent airport trends, operations, infrastructure, and services. <br /> The collection of airport data and aeronautical background information; a <br />review of historical airport documents, previous airport layout plans, maps, <br />charts, and photographs of airport facilities. <br /> Review of current and planned on and off-airport land use development and <br />property information, including surrounding land use patterns, existing and <br />proposed transportation developments, infrastructure, and utilities. <br /> The collection of environmental information related to the airport. <br />A IRPORT O WNERSHIP <br />The San Marcos Regional Airport is managed by Texas Aviation Partners (TAP), a <br />private firm, the <br />City of San Marcos. The City Council for the City of San Marcos provides review and <br />approval of all major fund expenditures and development decisions related to <br />airport infrastructure. <br />The airport also has an Airport Advisory Board that is appointed by the City Council. <br />The responsibilities of the Airport Advisory Board are set forth in the City of San <br />Inventory Chapter Page 1of 52 <br />October 2020 <br /> <br />
