AIRPORT MASTER PLAN <br />distance of 5,000 feet measured horizontally from the edge of the approach <br />surface and at right angles to the runway centerline. <br />Based on the criteria described in 14 CFR Part 77.19, the five civil imaginary <br />surfaces for the San Marcos Regional Airport are described below: <br /> Runway 8/26 <br />o Primary Surface - 1,000 feet wide x 200 feet past each runway end. <br />o Approach Surface Runway 8 and Runway 26 - 34:1 slope for 10,000 <br />feet. Inner width of the approach surface is 1,000 feet wide and <br />expands to 4,000 feet wide. <br /> Runway 13/31 <br />o Primary Surface - 1,000 feet wide x 200 feet past each runway end. <br />o Approach Surface Runway 13 - 50:1 slope first 10,000 feet, then 40:1 <br />for 40,000 feet. Inner width of the approach surface is 1,000 feet wide <br />and expands to 16,000 feet wide. <br />o Approach Surface Runway 31 - 34:1 slope for 10,000 feet. Inner width <br />of the approach surface is 1,000 feet wide and expands to 3,500 feet <br />wide. <br /> Runway 17/35 <br />o Primary Surface - 1,000 feet wide x 200 feet past each runway end. <br />o Approach Surface Runway 17 - 34:1 slope for 10,000 feet. Inner width <br />of the approach surface is 1,000 feet wide and expands to 3,500 feet <br />wide. <br />o Approach Surface Runway 35 - 34:1 slope for both runway ends for <br />10,000 feet. Inner width of the approach surface is 1,000 feet wide and <br />expands to 4,000 feet. <br /> Non-Runway Specific Surfaces <br />o Horizontal Surface - Flat surface established at an elevation 744.7 feet <br />(150 feet above field elevation). Perimeter is based on 10,000 feet arcs <br />swung from all runway ends. <br />o Conical Surface - Extends from the edges of the Horizontal Surface for <br />a horizontal distance of 4,000 feet at a 20:1 slope. <br />Facility Requirements Chapter Page 55 of 70 <br />October 2020 <br /> <br />
