Based on this analysis it is not expected that additional FBO/terminal building
facilities will be needed in the future.
Future hangar areas should achieve a balance between maintaining an
unobstructed expansion area, minimizing pavement development, and allowing
convenient airside and landside access. Typically, single-engine piston aircraft
demand 1,250 square feet, twin-propeller aircraft require 3,500 square feet,
business turboprop/jet aircraft require approximately 3,000 to 5,000 square feet,
and helicopters typically require approximately 1,500 square feet. General hangar
design considerations include the following:
Construction of aircraft hangars should be beyond an established Building
Restriction Line (BRL) surrounding the runway and taxiway areas, the runway
OFZ, runway and taxiway OFAs, and remain clear of the FAR Part 77 Surfaces
and Threshold Siting Surfaces.
