The United States Justice Department, <br />Voting Rights Division, had advised the City Secretary of their ap- <br />proval (and the local minority's approval) of Care-Inn of San Marcos <br />as the polling place for Precinct 20. Mr. Brown moved for approval <br />of Care-Inn as the polling place for Precinct 20 and Mr. Farr second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br />on two surface aerators for the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mr. Brown <br />moved for approval to award the bid to George Warren Company, Inc. of <br />Austin, Texas in the amount of $9,972.00 and Mayor Craddock seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br />on two pickup trucks for the Utility Department. Mr. Brown moved <br />for approval to award the bids to Grande Ford Truck Sales, Inc. of <br />San Antonio, Texas for one 1982 Ford Courier for $5,850.00 and one <br />1983 Chevrolet pickup from Chuck Nash Chevrolet of San Marcos, Texas <br />for $7,650.00 and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br />mously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of award of bid <br />on one riding mower for the Parks Department. Mrs. Mendez moved for <br />approval to award the bid to Watson Distributing Company, Inc. of San <br />Antonio, Texas for a Cushman front line mower 72" deck Mod. 804 for <br />$6,335.50 and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />City Manager Gonzalez reminded the Council it had been requested by <br />the Council that we seek bid invitations to other cities outside the <br />immediate area of San Marcos, and at this request the Staff was still <br />attempting to follow this guideline, to which the Council indicated <br />their approval. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. o <br />seconded by Mr. Farr. <br /> <br />E <br /> <br />motion made by Mr. Brown and <br /> <br /> W.
