Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of
the Regular Meeting held January 25, 1982. Mrs. Norris moved to ap-
prove the minutes and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unani-
mously.

Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider the annexation of
135 acres of land, more or less, adjoining the existing City Limits
of the City of San Marcos, Texas, out of the J. M. Veramendi League
No.1 and J. M. Veramendi League No.2, a portion of which is a/k/a
Cape's Camp. No one wished to speak in favor of the annexation. In
opposition to the annexation John Stokes asked if the utility services
would meet State requirements. City Manager Gonzalez said it would meet
the needs of the area. Also in opposition to the annexation, Andrew
Gary, representing the Thornton family, owners of the Cape's Camp pro-
perty, addressed the Council with question concerning the utility plan.
He said the lift station that was servicing the area nearby was inade-
quate, overflowing on occasion. He felt the City neeæto prove to the
citizens the value of annexing this area and made aware of the liability
of the county road and bridge, and what the City's intention were to do
about the road and bridge. He felt the utility plan was not specific
enough. No one else wished to speak in favor or against the annexation,
so Mayor Craddock closed the public hearing.

Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of appointments to
the Examining and Supervising Board of Electricians. Prior to the meet-
ing four names were placed in nomination for three positions on the
Board for Master Electricians: Richard Pullen, Jerrold Peters, Richard
Ray Cowan and Robert Cotner, Jr.; and Chuck Fritche was placed in nomi-
nation for the LCRA Representative and Albert Armstead as the City Elec-
trical Inspector. The Council then voted on the appointment of three
Master Electricians to the Board as follows:
