19 Regular Meeting January 11, 1982 Page 4 Mayor Craddock stated the Council would receive a report from Staff on 153 acres, more or less, out of the J. M. Veramendi League Nos. 1 and 2, which include the Cape's Camp area. City Planner Joe Garza reviewed with Council the annexation service plan for the area, a copy of which is attached to these minutes. After some discussion Mr. Cavazos moved that Staff be instructed to schedule two public hearings, one at the site of the annexation and one at City Hall and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cavazos, James, Mendez and Norris. NAY: Brown, Craddock and Kreczmer. ABSTAIN: None. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of amendments to Roger Jenkins' application for certificate for a taxicab service. Mr. Jenkins advised the Council he purchased Ralph Gonzales' three taxis last week and would like to operate under the name Ralph Gon- zales was using in his taxi business, City Taxi. He also said he would like to amend his fares as follows: 50 cents base (rather than 75 cents) + 10 cents per additional l/lOth mile and a 10% discount to persons over 60 years of age. Mr. Cavazos moved that Roger Jenkins be allowed to operate a taxicab service under the name of City Taxi and be allowed to amend his fare to 50 cents base + 10 cents per l/lOth mile and a 10% discount to persons over 60 years of age and Mr. Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. James moved the Council adjourn to Executive Session at 8:19 p.m. pursuant to Article 6252-17, V.A.C.S., §2(e), to seek advice of the City Attorney with respect to pending litigation, City of San Marcos vs. Shawn Kelley and John H. Kelley, and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. At 8:30 p.m. the Council returned to the Chambers and Mr. James moved to Council convene and Mr. Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mayor Craddock stated the City At~orney was instructed to proceed with negotiations.
