Hopkins <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, <br />2021. This meeting was held in-person and online. <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Mayor Pro Tem Shane <br />Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza, Council Member Mark Gleason and <br />Council Member Jude Prather <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Saul Gonzales <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Mayor Pro Tem Shane <br />Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza, Council Member Mark Gleason and <br />Council Member Jude Prather <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Saul Gonzales <br />111. Invocation <br />Rev. Krista Weber Huang, from San Marcos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship <br />provided this evening's invocation. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Mayor Hughson led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Jennifer Hayes, expressed concern with the recent post on the Animal Shelter's <br />Facebook page. She claimed inaccurate medical information was stated <br />regarding the animals. She stated this is an awful promotion of the animal and <br />the mistakes and inaccuracies reflect poorly on the shelter and the city. She <br />expressed concern with the negative staff notes on the dogs with behavior <br />issues and this is not a way to encourage a rescue group to pull a dog from the <br />shelter. An effort must be made to highlight the positives and provide quality <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
