Regular Meeting October 11, 1982 Page 2 Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration confirmation of the City Manager's recommendation for a Police Chief, Myron Galchutt. Mayor Craddock moved to confirm Mr. Galchutt and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration confirmation of the City Manager's recommendation for reappointment of Jim Michalec to the Civil Service Commission. Mrs. Norris moved to approve Mr. Michalec and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- ance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REPEALING ORDINANCE 1971-4 WHICH ESTABLISHED THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE; REPEALING THE AMENDMENTS TO SAID ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mrs. Mendez moved for the adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECLARING A POLICY ON ATTENDANCE AT MEETINGS OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES OF SAID CITY; DIRECTING THAT THIS ORDIANNCE BE DELI- VERED TO THE CHAIRMAN OF EACH BOARD, COmmISSION AND AUTHORITY OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Moore seconded the motion. During discussion it was determined the Chairperson of each board, commission and authority would be the responsible party for determining unexcused absences. The Council approved the Ordinance on first reading by unanimous vote. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 0.50 OF AN ACRE OF LAND OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. 2, ABSTRACT NO. 17, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "LI" (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT). Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- ance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follow~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF Th~ CITY OF SAN ~RCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS AND LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 6.03 ACRES OF LAND IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. ONE, A/K/A 1222 RED- WOOD ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "OP" (OFFICE PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT).
