Local Arts Agency Operations: Creative Waco Case Study <br />78 <br />Waco, Texas |Population:139,236| University student population: 19,522 <br />History. Creative Waco has been serving as the lead local arts agency for Waco and McLennon County since <br />2015 with a mission to grow and support a thriving cultural and creative community in Waco and McLennan <br />County, Texas. <br />Core Programs.Creative Waco oversees the operations and promotion of the following programs: <br /> Arts-Business Development Waco Sculpture Zoo <br /> ArtPrenticeship Waco Arts Alliance <br /> Arts Match Program Professional development and <br />various artist opportunities <br /> Cultural District <br />Waco 52 playing cards <br />Key Partners. Community partners and supporters include Act Locally Waco, Baylor University, Cen-Tex <br />African American Chamber of Commerce, Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, City Center Waco, <br />City of Waco, Cooper Foundation, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, KWBU Radio, KWTX TV, KXXV TV, <br />Museum Association of Waco, Neighborworks, Prosper Waco, The Bernard & Audre Rapoport Foundation, <br />Texas Commission on the Arts, Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau, Waco Foundation, Waco ISD and Waco <br />Public Improvement District. <br />Funding Structure. The City of Waco gives Creative Waco funding for about fifty percent of operational <br />costs. McLennan County, national and local grants and fundraising covers other fifty percent of operational <br />costs. The City also uses Creative Waco to conduct grant <br />Figure B-4.
