2022-2025 Meet and Confer Agreement <br />Between the San Marcos Police Officers' Association and the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />honorable discharge status. An applicant who has not been issued a DD214 yet (still active duty), may <br />present a letter signed by their commanding officer showing that the applicant has been employed by the <br />United States Armed Forces for at least two (2) years of service and there is no known reason for a <br />dishonorable discharge at the time of the letter. This letter must be provided prior to the written exam to <br />be awarded the points. <br />'To be eligible for education points, the applicant must provide transcripts showing an advance degree has <br />been conferred by the written exam date. Degrees may include a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or <br />doctorate degree. A two-year associate degree is not eligible for points. A degree must be obtained from <br />an institution of higher education that is accredited or authorized by the Southern Association of Colleges <br />and Schools, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the New England Association of Schools <br />and Colleges, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Northwest Commission on Colleges <br />and Universities, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or an international college or university <br />evaluated and accepted by a United States accredited college or university. The degree or major area of <br />study must be either in social work, sociology, psychology, human services, or human relations. <br />Section S. Statutory Preemption <br />To the extent that any of these provisions are in conflict with the TLGC Chapter 141, 152 or 143, (143.023; <br />143.025) this provision shall prevail. <br />Page 6 <br />
