No. 2015-21, § 1, 7-7-15 ) <br />Secs. 14.248-14.270. Reserved. <br />ARTICLE 10. ELECTRICAL CODE <br />DIVISION 1. GENERALLY <br />Secs. 14.271-14.290. Reserved. <br />DIVISION 2. STANDARDS <br />Sec. 14.291. Applicability. <br />(a) This article controls over all other parts of this chapter if a conflict occurs between this article and the <br />electrical code or the code for one- and two-family dwellings, which are adopted in section 14.002. <br />(b) This article applies: <br />(1) Throughout the city limits regardless of the electrical provider; and <br />(2) To all property, regardless of location, connected to the City electric utility system. <br />( Ord. No. 2015-21, § 1, 7-7-15 ) <br />Sec. 14.292. Amendments. <br />The following rules take precedence over and supersede any portion of the electrical code adopted in section <br />14.002 where conflicts occur: <br />(1) GFCI protection is not required at air conditioning condensers or heat pumps. <br />(2) All services shall have disconnecting means located outside of the building served. Exceptions are <br />allowed for upgrades to existing installations or where special permission is granted by the Building <br />Official and the Fire Code Official. <br />(3) Overhead service entrance conductors shall be in rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, or <br />electrical metallic tubing. Service entrance cable (article 338) will not be authorized unless protected <br />by approved conduit. If the service entrance conduit is a service mast, only two-inch or larger rigid <br />metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit will be used. <br />(5) Labeling: <br />a.
