Sec. 14.454. Permit cancellation. <br />(a) When the holder of a permit issued under this division fails or refuses to complete work, in whole or in part, <br />the building owner or person acting on behalf of the owner may submit a written request to the Building <br />Official for the amendment of the original permit to allow another licensed contractor to secure a permit to <br />complete the work. <br />(b) Upon receipt of a request for an amendment in accordance with subsection (a) and a new contractor being <br />assigned, the Building Official will amend the permit, and will notify the previous permit holder in writing of <br />the amendment of the permit. Electronic communication with the registered electronic address of the <br />permit holder may serve as proper notice. <br />(c) A contractor change fee will be charged in accordance with the Fee schedule set forth by the City Council. <br />( Ord. No. 2015-21, § 1, 7-7-15 ) <br />Sec. 14.455. Inspections. <br />(a) The building inspector will make inspections of all work and will enforce all sections of this article by entering <br />any building or premises at reasonable times, after presentation of proper credentials to the owner or other <br />person in control of the building or premises. <br />(b) Where work is in a dangerous or unsafe condition, the building inspector will instruct the permit holder to <br />(c) No work for which a visual inspection is needed may be concealed in any manner from access or sight until it <br />has been inspected and approved by the building inspector. <br />(d) If the work fails to meet the requirements of this article, the permit holder will be notified by the building <br />inspector of the deficiencies. If the deficiencies are not corrected within thirty (30) working days from date of <br />written notification, the Building Official may refuse to issue any further permits for that contractor until <br />the defective work is corrected and approved in accordance with this article. <br />(e) The building inspection division will keep a log of passed and failed inspections. <br />(f) This section does not preclude the use of any other remedies provided by law. <br />( Ord.
