2023-2026 Meet and Confer Agreement <br />Between the San Marcos Professional Firefighters Association and the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />Section 4. Advanced EMS Certification <br />Effective October 1, 2012, the City will provide monthly incentive payment to firefighters who possess and <br />maintain a current Advanced EMS certification as outlined below: <br />EMT -Intermediate $ 75 <br />EMT -Paramedic $150 <br />Section S. Assignment Pay <br />Fire department personnel who are assigned by the fire chief to work a staff assignment (Monday — Friday, 40 -hour <br />week) shall be paid assignment pay in the amount of $325 per month as compensation for specialized services. <br />Employees on modified duty are not eligible for this pay. <br />Section 6. Administration <br />The City shall establish procedures for the administration of the premium pay. Firefighters will be responsible for <br />submitting for pay premium payments. All certifications must be current to receive premium pay. <br />Section 7. Preemption <br />To the extent of any conflict, the provisions of this Article preempt TLGC Chapter 141, 142 and 143, including Section <br />141.032, 141.033, 143.038, 143.041, and any state statute, local ordinance, executive order, civil service provision or <br />rule adopted by the head of the Fire Department, the City of San Marcos or by a division or agent of the City such as a <br />personnel board or civil service commission as per TLGC Section 142.117. <br />Page 8 <br />
