Mayor Morris <br />moved to reappoint Jody Dodd (as the person with a degree in social <br />work with experience in Social Service Administration), reappoint <br />Marilyn Nwaskobia and reappoint Soila Rodriguez, Mr. Moore moved to <br />appoint Pat pardis, and Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Karen Brown, <br />which passed unanimously. Two additional appointments will be <br />scheduled for the January 28, 1991 agenda. Mr. Guerra requested <br />each member of the Council be responsible for an appointment to this <br />Board. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 5-52 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES TO REVISE THE AREAS OF SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD WITHIN <br />THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING <br />ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 15 1/2 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES TO REVISE THE DEFINITION OF LIMOUSINE SERVICES TO <br />PROVIDE SEPARATE DEFINITIONS FOR LUXURY LIMOUSINE SERVICES AND <br />AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICES; REVISING REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO <br />LIMOUSINE SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL <br />CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR <br />PUBLICATION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hart stated he had a conflict of interest and left the Council <br />Chambers. Mr. Hernandez stated he had a conflict of interest <br />because one of his relatives works for the cab company and left the <br />Council Chambers. Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on <br />first reading and Mr. Moore seconded the motion. Carol King stated <br />she works in the E. F. International Language School at SWT, and <br />that this community desparately needs public transportation. She <br />stated the foreign students involved in this program utilize the <br />local public transportation and need airport transportation when the <br />students request to be picked up. She is in support of the Council <br />approving this amendment.
