<br />Section 1.(a) (1) New Construction to add Group K and Mr. Guerra
<br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then
<br />voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading.
<br />
<br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the
<br />Special Meeting held April 5, 1991, Regular Meeting held April 8,
<br />1991 and Special Meeting held April 15, 1991, approval of two
<br />Ordinances on second reading, adoption of six Resolutions, approval
<br />of street closure April 27-28, 1991 between the hours of 7:30
<br />a.m.-1:30 p.m. for the 1991 South Central Collegiate Cycling
<br />Conference Championships for the following streets: (1) San Antonio
<br />Street from Guadalupe to Edward Gary Street; however, access to
<br />Victoria National Bank drive-through windows will be made available;
<br />LBJ Street from Martin Luther King to Hopkins; Edward Gary from LBJ
<br />to San Antonio Street and (2) partial street closures - Hopkins from
<br />Guadalupe to LBJ - one lane will be closed; Guadalupe from Hopkins
<br />to Martin Luther King - one lane will be closed; Martin Luther King
<br />from Guadalupe to LBJ - two lanes will be closed; approval to
<br />request and receive proposals for household recyclable material
<br />collection service; approval to change City Council Regular Meeting
<br />date from Monday, May 27, 1991 (Memorial Day Holiday) to Tuesday,
<br />May 28, 1991; approval to receive bid from First Southwest Company
<br />on the $3,595,000 GO Bonds, Series 1991, and $850,000 Waterworks and
<br />Sewer System Revenue Bonds, Series 1991; and approval of a street
<br />overlay program for 1991 on consensus. The Council removed items
<br />8.C.(2) and 8.H. to be considered separately. Ms. Kissler moved
<br />to approve the minutes of the Special Meeting held April 5, 1991
<br />(Mr. Plummer abstaining), the Regular Meeting held April 8, 1991,
<br />and the Special Meeting held April 15, 1991 (Mr. Plummer
<br />abstaining), to approve the two Ordinances on second reading, to
<br />adopt the remaining five Resolutions (Mr. Hart abstaining to Item
<br />8.C.[5]), to approve the street closures, to approve requesting and
<br />receiving proposals for household recyclable material collection
<br />service, to approve changing the City Council Meeting date from May
<br />27, 1991 to May 28, 1991, to approve receiving bid from First
<br />Southwest Company on the bond sale, and Mr. Guerra seconded the
<br />motion, which passed unanimously. The captions of these Ordinances

<br />PROVISIONS OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING SECTION 16-5,
<br />PROHIBITING THE PLACEMENT OF ADVERTISEMENTS, HANDBILLS, ETC.,
<br />ON VACANT BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY¡ PROVIDING FOR
<br />SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING
<br />FOR A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND ESTABLISHING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.

<br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER NINE, ELECTRICAL CODE, OF THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO ADOPT THE 1990 NATIONAL
<br />ELECTRICAL CODE; ADDING ALTERNATIVE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR
<br />THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR, DELETING THE REQUIREMENT FOR
<br />ELECTRICIAN TEST VALIDATION; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPIRATION OF
<br />ELECTRICAL LICENSES ON THE LICENSEE'S BIRTH MONTH AND REVISING
<br />THE LANGUAGE WITH REGARD TO THE ISSUANCE OF ELECTRICAL
<br />LICENSES; REMOVING THE FEE SCHEDULES; AMENDING SECTION 9-7.1
<br />REGARDING THE USE OF NONMETALLIC-SHEATHED CABLE AND METAL
<br />CONDUIT; REQUIRING THAT ALL STRUCTURES BRING ELECTRICAL
<br />EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS INTO COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODE
<br />PROVISIONS WHENEVER THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE OCCUPANCY
<br />CLASSIFICATION OF THE STRUCTURE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
<br />REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY;
<br />PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
