He noted that this coming weekend will be Bobcat Build, and there will be <br />an antique car display on the square. Mr. Guerrero also noted that San Marcos is in the <br />center of two major sporting events. There will be over 30,000 people at the Texas Relay <br />in Austin, and the Final Four will be held in San Antonio. <br />John Thomaides reported that he will be attending a conference in Austin on Thursday <br />sponsored by the Congress for New Urbanism. They will discuss downtown <br />revitalization issues, parking issues, energy efficiency, etc. He also thanked the city <br />administration team for their responsiveness, enabling him to better serve the citizens. <br />He also reported that yesterday was the opening day for major league baseball. <br />Mayor Narvaiz reported that she had met with the individual who is working on the <br />Harley Rally in New Braunfels. She hopes to have them here next year with the new <br />conference center. She also reported that she had attended four Easter Egg Hunts on the <br />Saturday before Easter, and there were hundreds of kids in attendance. She also <br />celebrated the Crocket Elementary School dedication. Mayor Narvaiz reported that the <br />Hays- Caldwell Public Utility awarded a contract to HRN and LAN regarding water rights <br />for future water sources. She applauded Tom Taggart and other staff involved. She also <br />attended the 80th Legislative Conference in New Braunfels. Ted Omohundro, with Prime <br />Outlets, was welcomed back, and she noted that he will help us move to the next level. <br />On Saturday she attended the opening ceremony for local Little League Baseball.
