1.2.4 EkaNetTM Data Manager -refers to Eka software application residing on a server that <br />interfaces to the EkaNetTM Network Manager server and provides a database from which <br />the City can acquire meter consumption data for internal purposes; <br />1.2.5 EkaNet System - ("System") A network which consists of Gateways, Relays, Meter <br />Nodes, Meters, and the EkaNetTM Network Manger. <br />1.2.6 Gateways (EkaNet) -refer to Data Collector Units as referenced in the City's Request <br />for Proposals ("RFP"). <br />1.2.7 Phase 1 - is referred to as the "AMI Pilot". The AMI Pilot consists of an appropriate <br />number of Gateways and/or Relays as defined by the Vendor for approximately 500 <br />water and electric meters. <br />1.2.8 Phase 2 - is the full-scale deployment of the system and includes the Full Scale <br />Installation ("FSI") of all Gateways, Relays, electric meters and Eka Nodes to form a <br />complete system consisting of approximately 20,800 electric service locations installed <br />by the Vendor and approximately 9600 water meters with Nodes provided by the Vendor <br />as per Article 13 and installed by City Water Department crews with the Vendor's <br />technical consulting assistance; <br />1.2.9 Nodes (EkaNet) -refer to Meter Interface Units (MIUs) referenced in the RFP. <br />1.2.10 Project Plan -refers to the tasks and schedule along with deliverables developed for the <br />Project upon execution of the Agreement. <br />1.2.11 NESC -National Electric Safety Code. <br />1.2.12 Relays -refers to repeaters to extend range of Eka Nodes or Gateways. <br />1.2.13 Utility Billing Application -refers to Harris Computer Inc.'s NorthStar 6.2.9 Utility <br />Billing Application. <br />1.3 PHASE 1 -PILOT PROGRAM <br />Phase 1 (Pilot Program) is intended to determine whether the Vendor's System is able to <br />perform based on the required specifications listed in the acceptance section for both the Alpha <br />and Beta portions as provided in this Agreement. For both the Alpha and Beta portions of Phase <br />1 of the Project the Vendor in coordination with the City will: <br />1.3.1 Provide, integrate, and assist in the installation of electric meters and Nodes and water <br />meters and Nodes as specified in this Agreement for the approved alpha and beta pilot sites. The <br />Vendor will also assist in the installation of Gateways and Relays as required for the pilot project <br />locations. <br />1.3.2 Train City personnel in electric and water meter node integration. <br />Advanced Metering Infrastructure Agreement Page 5 <br />
